City Departments

The function of the Traffic Signal Maintenance Department is to provide routine maintenance and repairs of traffic signals and school flashers throughout the City. Another important function of the department is to perform traffic studies of specific areas within the City to determine the need for additional traffic control devices.

PROGRAM GOAL

Improve and upgrade the quality of the Traffic Signals and School Flasher Systems. Enhance traffic circulation on our street systems by reducing signal and flasher downtime and continuously inspect the operation of the system.
 

OBJECTIVES FOR 05-06

●  Maintain programmable time clocks in school flashers.
●  Maintain traffic signal lights.
●  Improve the traffic signal system to keep up with traffic demands.
●  Upgrade five (5) traffic controllers in the downtown area.
●  Refurbish signal heads in different street intersections.
