Hiring Rate:  $8.6019 - $12.0649/hr
 

JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of duties in the care and security of prisoners in the City detention facility. Duties are performed in accordance with the established policies and procedures pertaining to the commitment, confinement and release of prisoners.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to type and to work shift work. · Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public. · Graduation from a high school or an equivalent combination of experience and training. · Bilingual preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Clerical and/or light physical work. Work is fairly active but a portion of the time is spent at a desk or bench. Involves occasional light lifting of 0 to 25 pounds, considerable walking, some bending, stooping and squatting.
