JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for various professional and technical services in the public
library system requiring knowledge of library principles, practices, and
techniques. Plans, develops,
coordinates and executes programs related to Youth Services; trains employees
and evaluates their performance; coordinates and designs displays
for youth services area; researches and
answers reference questions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s of Library Science degree from an American Library
Association accredited school of Library Science. Considerable knowledge of the
practices, procedures, and techniques of Library Science. Knowledge of juvenile
literature, audiovisual materials, and children’s programming. Storytelling
skills desired.
PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Sits at a desk to work. Involves occasional light lifting of 0 to 25 pounds.
