PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATOR I
Police Services
Pay Rate: $8.00/hr

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for receiving emergency and non-emergency calls for information and assistance via telephone, and teletype. Directs all calls to appropriate source of assistance. Must be able to prepare, maintain, update reports and files and prioritize multi-tasks in a high volume, high-pressure work environment. Operates complex computers, telephone equipment, recording devices, E-911 PSAP, Teletype Device for the Deaf (TTY) and other technical equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
● High school diploma or GED.
● Bilingual preferred.
● Be able to complete state-required certification with first year of employment.
● Must be available for any shift. · Able to type a minimum of 30 words per minute.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Administrative work; sits at a desk to work. Involves occasional light lifting of 0 to 25 pounds.
