To provide a continuous effective board to provide for current and future development of tennis for the citizens of Harlingen.

  

Membership:

The six (6) members of said board shall serve a maximum term of three (3) years, but in no case shall the term of any board member exceed the term of office of the Mayor or Commissioner making such appointment.  In the event a member of the Harlingen Tennis Advisory Board vacates office during his/her term the Mayor or commissioner making such appointment shall appoint a replacement who shall serve for a term not to exceed the remaining term of office of the Mayor co Commissioner making such appointment.  Each appointee shall continue to serve until a successor is appointed.  Appointee shall forfeit his office if such appointee fails to attend three (3) consecutive meetings in a calendar year.  The members of the board shall elect from its membership a chairperson who shall not vote except to break a tie.  The board shall establish rules and regulations for its meetings and conducting its authorized operations as herein provided for.
