2018 ANNUAL REPORT

Welcome to the City of Harlingen Police Department (HPD) 2018 Annual Report. As we head into 2019 as a community and as a police department we strive to make progress in implementing the best practices in 21st century policing and improved transparency for our citizens. HPD continues working toward the goals we have set and our Annual Report provides a holistic look at crime, traffic, quality of life issues and accomplishments in Harlingen. With the retirement of Chief Jeffry Adickes late in 2018 the department will have a change in leadership for 2019 but not a change in philosophy as we continue to promote Community Policing and keep Harlingen safe for all who live, work and visit here. HPD has nearly 200 Harlingen Heroes that work hard daily to handle the 50,000 plus 911 calls annually that come from the homes, businesses, and streets of Harlingen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
