Management Information System

City Departments

The Management Information Department is responsible for assisting most departments in the city with the highest level of computer technologies available at the lowest possible costs.

In October, 1999, we began a new era with HTE's city-wide software which has benefited us greatly. We have reduced paper flow significantly with the near paperless purchasing system.

The HTE software package runs on our new AS/400e Model i520 IBM Express System. Our new system is now a state of the Art System that can automatically shutdown at the first sign of electrical outage without fear of any type of data loss. AS soon as the fear has passed, the system restarts itself and reinitializes to a working condition so that no one need fear losing any work time. We have also doubled our storage capability at 105GB while maintaining our Raid System to guard against any untimely disk losses.

Additionally, we are in the process of installing our new VoIP Telephone System across the City with modern capabilities that most companies are already using such as Voice Messaging, Call Forwarding, Caller ID, and a few other functions that will work toward maintaining an efficient workflow of information between City Hall and our Citizens.
